Sherman Hill is a historic neighborhood of victorian style homes. They needed brochures, posters, mailers and web ads to help promote the annual event. The challenge was to make an attractive cohesive design across all platforms while preserving the history. The solution was to make a modern look but maintain the victorian style. The victorian styles were achieved through hand carving linoleum blocks to make decorative patterns. The modern and victorian styles were cohesively joined together by mixing the linoleum prints with slab serif fonts (mimicking the look of broadsides) and adding a vintage color.
